Downtown Family Session

It's that time of year. Family photos must be taken and gifts must be bought and Christmas is right around the corner and will be here way sooner than we think and we have to figure out Thanksgiving dinner before we even begin to figure out where we'll actually be on Christmas Day and there is just so much to do. But in the middle of all of this craziness and planning and budgeting and spending, this is the best time of the year. The leaves have turned, the snow is ready. Let's take a minute to slow down and hang out and just enjoy each other.

 When Kate asked me to take some family photos as a gift for her mother-in-law's birthday, I was so excited to see old friends again and be a little part of her amazing idea. We all met up in Annapolis and Kate surprised Valerie with the news that we'd be spending the next little bit walking around the beautiful grounds of St. Johns College taking photos of her sweet family. Isn't that such a great gift idea? I so enjoyed getting to spend time with the whole family and really love how much joy there is in these photos.

Tradlands : Part II

For the second part of the Tradlands shoot, we wanted to try a different approach from the cozy, comfy way we featured the Jones St. Blue in Part I. I love how versatile oxfords shirts can be and Tradlands really takes the cake. They are just tailored enough to look professional but can morph into a great after work adventure shirt in an instant. We headed to a nearby horse farm for our adventure and found the perfect blend of preppy and outdoorsy. I love how the equestrian style is so very put together but also really rustic. There is something special about being dressed to the nines with mud on your boots.

Tradlands: Part I

Woah. Have I got a bunch of awesome for you. Tradlands. Tea. Kristen. River. The wonderful duo at Tradlands sent me one of their gorgeous button downs to try out, so I got my gorgeous sis-in-law to model it for me. They were a gorgeous perfect match. That's a lot of gorgeous. 

Here is Part 1 of our little shoot - a cozy, tea drinking afternoon by the river in none other than the Jones St. Blue.

Fall Family

I love my family. God has blessed us so much in just being able to live near each other and I'm always thankful for the time we get to share. My sister has some beautiful children and a wonderful husband and I love seeing them play together. I love photographing the kiddos because their joy is right on their faces all the time. Yes, m&ms may have helped a bit, but the kids are just so happy and bright and full of excitement.
