horace and mae: photography

A few months ago, Horace and I got to attend the Field and Foundry Baltimore dinner where we met the creative couple Robbi and Matthew of Idiots Books. They spoke at the dinner about collaboration, how it works for them and pursuing it with others. Horace got all inspired and a few days later, asked Robbi and Matthew if we could take some photos of them in their element. We made the trek across the Bay Bridge to adorable Chestertown, where the families beautiful and eclectic restored barn home resides. They made us a delicious lunch and showed us around their home and workspace while we snapped photos.

Matthew and Robbi are the creatives behind a few brands including Idiots Books, Bobbledy Books (their Childrens Books) and the newly established Haywire Letterpress. Matthew writes and Robbi illustrates, making for an awesome collaboration and groove between the two of them. The new letterpress company, run with their friend and letterpress operator Jodi, gives such a fun spin to something that is all too often taken too seriously.
