Owen - you sleepily snuggled on my hip is one of my favorite things.. It doesn't happen much any more with you being the busy toddler you are, so I treasure theses little moments like gold.

With this crazy polar vortex going through, we've been staying layered and snuggled all week long. Long johns and slippers are our best friends (and thank the Lord for in-laws with a wood stove and a futon).

Beach

We went to our favorite little beach for Father's Day. We usually have it all to ourselves, like we did on this day.

One Year

Our little O-man turns 1 today! He's an amazingly happy and joyful kid and I can't imagine our life without him. What a blessing he has been to K and I! You can really tell how much he loves his dad in these pics:)

A Minute

Owen has been making me laugh so much lately. He's getting some teeth and I guess they feel weird to him, so he makes this monkey face when he notices them. He talks a lot, making all kinds of noises, saying 'dada'.   He notices his sounds too and is always surprised by them. He's so happy and joyful and just so much fun to be around.

Owen and I have been best buds lately. He started waving at people and he really seems about to say "dada" any day now ( I could have sworn he said "excuse me" the other day :) 

He gets so excited at just about everything and our favorite times as of late have been on the changing table. For some reason, he loves it when I'm standing next to him and I spin around. He goes berserk. 

Its so fun to watch him change and grow.

2012

Basically, Horace got into photography and Owen got born. I loved this year and will always remember it as wonderful.

6 Months Old

Owen is 6 months old. I know I say it every time there is a milestone of any sort, but it is just amazing to me how quickly he has grown.

He is just about sitting up on his own and he really enjoys rolling over on his belly. We started feeding him oatmeal and he can't get enough of it. He gets really sad if the spoon isn't constantly full of food.

I love coming across clothes that people gave him a while ago that finally fit. His Aunt Kelly and Uncle Marc gave him a shirt that has little suspenders and a bow tie on it. He can wear it now and look quite dapper rather than shrimpy:)

As you can see, we spend a lot of time on our bed. He loves playing peekaboo, but prefers a subtle peekaboo to the bombastic ones.

Horace and I have a bunch of songs that we sing to him, but the one that we always come back to is "Tonight you belong to me". Is it awful that its slightly suggestive, not to mention the fact that it hails from "The Jerk"? Yes. But Owen loves it and he seems to like us singing together.

Owen has such a fun personality and I can't wait until he starts moving around. I know its going to wear me out, but I am so looking forward to how much he is going to love discovering the world around him (just like his dad). I can tell that they are going to be two peas in a pod!

Instax Christmas

Wow, what a fun Christmas! It was so much fun having Owen around this year to be a part of the celebration. We got him a couple of little toys and I am still surprised by how interested he is in each and every one of them.

  Owen particularly loves the little wooden whale his dad gave him. And can you believe it, it actually snowed, not on Christmas, but just one day late:)

I remember being pregnant last Christmas and thinking about how the next year we would have a baby with us and just how crazy and far away that seemed. God sure did bless us with a fun, happy and excitable little guy to join in the fun.

 Here's to wherever our little family will be next year! I know it will be some place good:)
