Owen - You are a loving everything about this time of year. The leaves are enthralling to you, but you get the most enjoyment out of helping to rake them up. Let me just say, this is a huuuge help to your mom and dad. Also, Halloween was so much fun with you. We walked to a few houses and you said "trick or treat!" and got a bag full of candy. We're still working through that candy too. I like that you savor things:)

Owen - We're just skipping the weeks I missed:) I love you even though I'm terribly unorganized when it comes to these kinds of things. Anyways, Auntie Ashley took some family photos of us, so we got all snazzed up and told you to go stand on a little leaf. You walked right over, stood there with a sweet face and then folded your hands up so perfectly. You, my son, are a natural.

Owen - Like I said, I've been bad about keeping up with taking a photo of you every week. Help me out with that. I want to remember this little poem because it so very perfectly captures my favorite moments with you.
One Good Thing
by Edwin Romond It's been a dead parade of hours since 5 AM a march of the bland with the meaningless and I can think of nothing I have done to merit mentioning or remembering. But now, at 8 pm, I am bathing my son in a tub filled with bubbles and blue battleships, the soapy water over his Irish white skin makes him glisten like a glazed doughnut and I should tell him to stop splashing but this is the first time all day I have felt like living so how can I scold my boy who's found joy in something ordinary as water? And when I wash his hair with Buzz Lightyear shampoo, Liam closes his eyes and smiles like a puppy being petted as I massage the sweet lotion into his red curls and I know this is one good thing I have done with my life this day that has waited for this moment of water on my sleeve and soap on my nose to turn emptiness into ecstasy.

Owen - we got to take a trip to Ohio and Michigan this week to visit our sweet friends and new babies. You and H played so sweetly together and we couldn't have had a nicer time relaxing and watching you two become friends. Rachel and I were college roommates just a few short years ago, so we had to get a photo of our new and ever expanding lives. I can't wait to watch all of you grow up as we connect throughout the years.

Owen - Somehow I managed to snag a photo of you looking right at me. So often I'll try to get your eyes and you are not interested in standing still. Other times though, you'll give me a silly grin and say "cheeeeeeese." I like when I catch you as you: a bit tired, but ready for the next adventure.

Owen - Dad was building a backdrop frame and you wanted nothing more than to be helpful. You asked if you could help and you worked hard. You have such a strong desire to work hard and we see it with how you play with your toys and help clean up. This will come in handy in the future.

Owen - The raspberries finally showed up this week and boy did we enjoy them. You helped me picked them and did your best to fill the bowl while filling your belly. Dad and I made a late night pie and we woke you up to share it, since I had promised you a pie all die. You loved every bit of it and went to sleep happy.

Owen - We've been working really hard on helping you to enjoy the pool, but what gets me is that you love the water. You love Grandad's boat, you love the beach and you love Aunt Mo's dock. On this day, we spent time by the water and you went paddle boarding with Dad and you would point and tell him where to go. You were so excited to explore and go where you wanted.

Owen - The more pregnant I get, the snugglier you seem to get. You fell asleep in my bed during your nap the other day and I couldn't have asked for a sweet afternoon - you totally out, dreaming about Wawa and bathtime, me milling around the room, folding laundry and snapping shots of you. I'm always happy for you to snooze in my room.

Owen - It amazes me that as much time as we spend near the water, you are still not its biggest fan. You adore boating with Dada (Grandad), but getting you to swim in the pool is a no-go. You did let me hold you in the pool this past week, so I think we just need to practice. Love of the water is in your blood, so sooner or later, you'll be there.

Owen - I know, I cheated a little bit this week. A phone picture is really not what I was going for when I started this project, but I adored this moment with you. Also, selfies are hard with back-button focusing on my huge camera. Anyways, our afternoon snuggles on my bed are my favorite. Today, you sang to our new baby and you hid under the covers and you ate yogurt with me and really enjoyed being like a grown-up. Love you.

Owen - I remember celebrating Mother's Day when I was pregnant with you, but nothing could be better than being your Mom with you right there every day.
