I finished a book this week. Yes, it was a Nora Ephron, read it in an hour, this is too much fun book, but still. It felt good to get through something and I feel much more motivated to finish my other book, which is a little more meaty, but still a good read. I would love to hear some recommendations for a nice summer read. I recently heard a review about The Sweet Girl so I might give that a try.
I still remember being about 10 years old and laying in my Aunt's front yard reading Lily's Crossing under their pear tree in the grass. I even remember what shirt I was wearing. There is something about the summertime and books that just go so hand in hand. I'd love to get back to that feeling.
Any fun summer reads?

The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is a great book! Fun and easy to read. Also one of my favorite books is A Severe Mercy but that's not really fun or easy... it's really sad. Anyway you should recommend some books here!
ReplyDeleteOooo I'll have to check that one out. A severe mercy has been recommended before and I've yet to get to it. I'm a fan of depressing books, so it might work for me:)
Deletehmm, I suppose my latest recommendation would be "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society". It took a while to get into, but it ends up being a really fun read. Similar style to "84 Charing Cross Road", also a great read.
Oh and might as well suggest Ina Garten's latest cookbook:) Lots of fun tips and tricks apart from just the delicious recipes.
Thanks Christy!

I highly recommend Then Again by Diane Keaton if you haven't read it. Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Bard is also a good one!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Diane Keaton and totally forgot about that book. I'll be getting that in my next amazon order:)
DeleteLunch in Paris sounds like the perfect summer book. Thanks so much Emma!
